Why Blog for Business? Simple – No Blog No Business.
Why Blog for Business: In this post I hope to show you how you might be missing the boat day after day in your business if you aren’t using a blog to build.
So many people are getting into business for themselves and I feel it is my mission to share what I know so that others can prosper in what ever business they are building.
The great news, these strategies work for ANY business from MLM, Direct Sales, Network Marketing, Internet Marketing to Franchise and Brick and Mortar.
If you have something to sell (service or product) a blog is your best friend.
Why Blog For Business?
First, let me share what a blog is NOT
A blog is not your diary and journal where you simply share what you had for lunch and what you did today. Sure, at one point, they may have been used for that but this is NOT your grandmas blog.
A blog is your real estate on the market today and that market is online. Like it or not, business has moved online and that is where your customers are.
1. Why Blog for Business? A Blog and its content is way more lasting than a post on Facebook, tweet on twitter, or picture on Instagram.
The content you share on a blog post is out in the internet world forever. YEARS later people can and will be finding the things you write. They can be evergreen, depending on what you share and how.
If you anything about the Social Media Platforms I’ve mentioned above, you know they are quick, fast paced and there are tons of people throwing up content on them daily.
When you create a blog post your content sticks around and it doesn’t go anywhere. When you know how to optimize your blog and you have a system behind you built to be most optimized (even if you don’t know how), your blog shows up in front of people looking for what you have to offer.
What other method of advertising do you know of that can last basically forever?
2. Why Blog for Business? You Answer Questions and Solve the problems of others through blog content you share.
What’s the last thing you Googled to find out how to do it, learn more information about it, or just look something up?
Ever look up song lyrics, someone’s video, a tv program etc?
Someone out there in internet land took the time to create a piece of content (video, blog, picture, info graphic, etc) that was a response to a question, a search, a query of someone else.
What if your blog posts were the ones that came up when ever anyone was searching online for what you have because they wanted it, they needed it, etc.
3. Why Blog for Business? You don’t even have to have a product
What if the knowledge in your head was what you shared on a blog?
What if the awesome pictures you take with your camera were on a blog?
What if the houses you sell as a Real Estate Agent were coming up for a city and on your blog?
Truth is. You can talk about crocheting, raising cats, or how to cook eggs and someone out there is searching for that thing.
4. Why Blog for Business? A Blog is not only long term, it’s more cost effective
If you have ever purchased advertising, you know it can be costly. Especially media print, tv, etc.
A blog and it ‘s posts can be unlimited. If you are so inclined, you could create 1, 2, 5, 10, 15 blog posts a day. There is no end to how many posts you create. You also have the liberty of sharing your once written blog post in numerous areas, numerous times.
For example, I have heard it said that you can tweet a blog post link out 4-5 times a day on Twitter and chances are, it wouldn’t be seen by everyone because the news feed in Twitter is extremely fast paced.
Is there any other advertising medium you’ve used that gets you that much bang for your buck?
I haven’t even begun to talk about the ability you have to re purpose that content into :
c. Facebook posts
d. G+ posts
e. Instagram Posts
f. Audios and podcasts
g. slideshare presentations
What if you wrote one blog post a week about your product, service, passion, what ever, and spent the rest of the week sharing it to all the sources I’ve mentioned above?
In case you didn’t know….these don’t even begin to touch on all the platforms you can use to get your information out there.
5. Why Blog for Business? Anyone can do it
Let’s be real. If you can read and write and maybe type, you can create a blog post. You don’t even have to speak English and you can create blog posts in your native tongue and reach an incredible untapped market of people looking for help in their own language.
If you are honest with yourself, even a 12 year old kid could blog and build up some kind of following, even if they were just talking about middle school or video games.
On the other end of the spectrum is grandma/grandpa. With the right system and training, just about anyone can build a business and blog.
I’m sure I could go on and on about why you MUST blog for your business if you really want to be in business but I’ll end with this.
Check out this article by Huffington Post where they share “10 Reasons You Should Have a Blog“
- 1. “An unexamined life is not worth living”
2. Blog posts are true contemplations of our lives and our thoughts.
3. Eighty-one percent of Americans think they have a book inside them.
4. Becoming a better writer is good for your brain.
5. Writing makes us think with more focus, as it forces a self-control that mere musings cannot.
6. It’s a great chronicle of family history.
7. Life can narrow as we age. Blogging keeps us in constant contact with an ever-expanding world of new people and new thoughts.
8. Coming up with new content, being forced to learn new things is what keeps us alive and young.
9. Nothing makes you feel less alone in the world than 10 comments on your blog from perfect strangers saying that they are feeling the exact same thing you are.
10. Everyone should leave one indelible mark on the world, a legacy in black and white.
If you have not yet left yours, start a blog. (SOURCE)
Why Blog for Business? I have no idea where to start!
Good. That’s not an issue either. There is NO Excuse
All of us started with no experience, no knowledge in some area at some time. Fortunately, there is an easy system that shows you step by step how to get started writing your very first blog post.
Even if all you do is introduce yourself, you’ll see how easy it is to get started.
The only thing you have to lose by putting off the inevitable is just a little more business, a little more money in your pocket, and ultimately, you miss out on being the one to provide the solution to those customers searching for what you have to offer.
Please leave a comment if you found some value from this post. I’d love to know what questions I can answer for you too! 🙂
